The new Hulk for “The Avengers” was chosen a day before the announcement

Mark Ruffalo woke up the next morning around 5:00 a.m., looked out that window and indeed saw a limousine waiting for him. He got in it, got to the airport, took a plane to San Diego and was there on stage during the grand announcement of “The Avengers,” a film that would become one of the most iconic and successful of the 21st century.

The Avengers film earned over $1.5 billion at the box office
It was the first episode of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that managed to achieve such an impressive result. Subsequently, Avengers 4: The Final Destination became the highest-grossing film in cinema history for a brief period, pushing Avatar aside.

In previous film adaptations, the Hulk was played by Eric Bana and Edward Norton.
